In this past lockdown, We felt it was essential to remind ourselves of Slowed Down Funk Trilogy which takes its cues from the chopped and screwed sound invented by Houston’s DJ Screw, with syrup-laced vocals, crusty bass vibrations and G-funk squeals rolling along at a groggy tempo — A batch of exclusive remixes, edits, and instrumentals, a Hip hop freebie from the L.A. Club Resource boss from back in 2014. Accordingly, link below.

Despite the rap-ward emphasis of Slowed Down Funk, Edwards was best known at the time for his dance releases through New York record label L.I.E.S., the tapes were a departures in varying degrees from his tracks for L.I.E.S. and self-owned L.A. Club Resource. His Slowed Down Funk III: Pure Evil, is the first to explicitly credit him with individual songs.
